At MFL Insights for Students, we believe in the power of language learning to transform students' lives. With over 45 years of business experience in the corporate and education sectors, we are dedicated to providing valuable insights for students studying Modern Foreign Languages.
We deliver face-to-face talks for groups of students before they make their subject options choices, stressing the value of a language skill in any chosen career. Often students dont understand the power of the language skill especially at the job interview stage and how it can help them be more successful.
David Binns, formerly Director of Operations for Sanako UK & Ireland, has now delivered well in excess of 550 inspirational career talks to students stressing the importance of a second language skill in any chosen career and at initial interview stage. These talks are extremely well received by staff, students & parents with most schools asking for a return visit by him.
The talk itself lasts for around 45 minutes and is often carried out not just to a class but to an entire year group. Students are encouraged to ask questions at the end as David seems to have a natural ability to engage with them at their own level.

MFL Career Talks for Parents
Often parents are half the battle when it comes to a child making the subject option choices which will affect the rest of their lives. These talks are aimed directly at parents so they gain a better understanding of a language skill in any ever-changing world dominated by global trade.
In addition, we emphasize the long-term benefits of language proficiency, including enhanced career prospects. By equipping parents with this knowledge, we empower them to guide their children towards making informed decisions that open doors to opportunities in an interconnected global economy.
The MFL Apprentice
Occasionally MFL teachers have identified a group of students, who are more than capable of taking a language subject, but for whatever reason they have chosen not to.
The numbers can vary, but I meet with them at school in a small room to simulate a business environment where they are encouraged to ask me any business related question and how a language skill can help in their careers.
In addition to discussing career prospects, I also introduce them to real-world examples of people who have successfully leveraged their language skills to excel in various industries.
